Valentines Day Special: From Ankita-Sushant to Divyanka-Vivek; meet the Telly couples who fell in love on TV shows!
Ankita Lokhande- Sushant Singh Rajput
They came, they saw, they conquered each others hearts! Well, this was NOT the case with our very own Archana and Manav aka Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput. It is said that the two initially disliked each other and often had arguments on sets of Pavitra Rishta. But just like a hit Bollywood story, the two never realised when their fights culminated into fondness and eventually into love. Also, in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa where the two were participants once, Sushant, had on national TV proposed to Ankita for marriage and she too had said a Yes. Recently, at an event Sushant confirmed their marriage to happen by December, this year. We tried getting in touch with the two, but they did not revert back considering their hectic schedules.
Divyanka Tripathi- Vivek Dahiya
Divek's love story began from the popular serial Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. While Divyanka was already an established actress, Vivek was still a newbie in her comparison. But it did not matter to the lovebirds who had started to fall for each other. While talking to Vivek, the hunk states how he fell for Ishita in the first few meetings itself. He said, "the first time I saw her, I was 80% sure that she was the one. But I did not want to rush into it. So I gave it a few meetings and then by the end, I was thoroughly assured that she was the one for me." Vivek has planned a nice surprise for her and the lovebirds are currently in Sri Lanka to spend the love day.
Kiran Karmarkar- Rinku Dhawan
It was a surprise for audiences, when they realised that the on-screen brother-sister duo was head over heels in love with one another and was soon to take the nuptials. Having essayed the role of Chaya and Om in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Rinku Dhawan and Kiran Karmakar realised that in real life, they were each other's Om and Parvati in true sense. The pretty Rinku who is currently seen in Zee TV's Yeh Vaada Raha says that it was Kiran's strong headed nature that attracted him to her. "He was real. He was so focused in life. Was clear in his thoughts, his vision. He knew what he wanted and was a firm and strong minded man. This X-factor within him made me instantly fall for him, for I too am a strong-headed lady." She says that considering their hectic schedules, the day they get time to spend with each other is Valentine's day for them. "Apart from each other, our true Valentine is our son Ishaan," says Rinku.
Gautami Gadgil-Ram Kapoor
They played the role of a brother and sister in law who under tough circumstances get married to each other in Ghar Ek mandir. Little did they know there on-screen and off-screen bonding would soon culminate into them building their own marital abode. Despite their hectic schedules, Ram and Gautami still try and make it a point to be together on 14th February. Not just because its Valentine's but also because it calls for their anniversary; the day they officially became Mr and Mrs Kapoor 13years ago. "This year, we tried to take an off from our work but since we had important scenes to be done, we couldn't manage it. Plus Ram is also not in town. So I'll be celebrating Valentine's with my little ones, for they are my real Valentines, " laughs Gautami. On talking about their adorable love story, she expounds how friendship culminated into marriage. "We were friends for almost two years," says Gautami. "It was then when we started seeing each other and culminated it into marriage."
Ritwik Dhanjani -Asha Negi
Another love story that blossomed on the sets of Pavitra Rishta was of Asha Negi and Rithvik Dhanjani. Having played Arjun and Purvi, the lovebirds instantly hit off on the first day itself. Though the two who consider themselves to be each others BFF, say that they aren't one of the cheesy lovey-dovey couple. For them each day is Valentine's day for the love seems to be growing day by day. It was the jealousy on seeing each other being paired with different co-stars was when they realised that there was something more to their 'just good friends' tag. While talking to us, Asha revealed that they have no plans for Valentine's day."We have always thought the best for one another . But for Valentines, we just want our fans to love us more and more and also love each other."
Hiten Tejwani- Gauri Pradhan
Love can happen anytime and anywhere is just apt for these adorable two. They saw each other on the airport, but it was Kutumb followed by Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi that helped the love of Telly World's Karan and Nandini flourish and nourish completely. Having worked with a lot of actresses what made Hiten fall for Gauri? "It was her complete down to earth attitude," says the doting husband. "Gauri was very different from others. And truly I never got that Bhaav from her. That made me fall for her actually." Though he doesn't believe in Valentine's day, the actor says for lovers, everyday should be a Valentines day!
Manav Gohil- Shweta Kawatra
Remember 2000's popular Vamp Pallavi who is still remembered for her role in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki. Apart from name and fame, KGGK also gave her the most precious gift of her life, her husband Manav Gohil. The two met and initially friendship bloomed in between the two. But both were hesitant to take their relation forward. So when did they realise that they were meant for each other!? "When shweta distanced away from me," says Manav Gohil . "I was by the time so used to her, that her absence made me feel restless. That was when I knew she was the one in my life." Though he does not believe in Valentines Day as such, he still may buy something nice for her.
Vivian D'sena-Vahbiz Dorabjee
Whoever said it takes years to know your right partner, needs to read this adorable couple's love story! The Hindi phrase 'jhat mangni, pat shaadi' seems apt for Vahbiz and Vivian. After meeting on the sets of star one Pyaar Ki Ek Kahani, the two who initially became friends realised those special feelings for one another. Without much ado, the two within 8 months of courtship, they were all ready to get engaged that was followed by a grand wedding. Vahbiz feels that Valentine's day is a special day for those couples who are super busy with their professional commitments. The lady who will be seen in Life OK's Bahu Humari Rajni_kant has planned a small little surprise for her hubby. Though on the other hand, the Comedy show's Maggi also expects Vivian Dsena to have planned a surprise from his end as well! "All that matters at the end of the day is being close to each other and loving each other," says Vahbiz.
Kishwer Merchant- Suyyash Rai
The couple that eats together, lives together, fights together (against everybody, though)-stays together! This phrase is just so apt for SuKish. Having met on the sets of Pyaar Ki Ek Kahani, the two took their own sweet little time to realise their feelings for one another. It was eventually when Suyyash took Kishwar to the Golden Temple in the four-five months span when they were figuring out their feelings, that the two realised that they were in love. "I had this thing that whenever and whichever guy takes me to the Golden Temple, he will be my soulmate and as destiny would have it, Suyyash took me there," says Kishwar. For SuKish, each day is special. The two last seen on Big Boss 9 strengthened their bond while their stay in the house. The couple is all set to marry this year after a courtship of five long years.
Gauri Yadav -Yash Tonk
They met on the sets of Kahin Kisi Roz. The two played the roles of brother and sister in law. The audiences were in for a surprise when the two announced their relationship. They are one happy family with their little girl. We tried to reach out to them, but both gauri-Yash remained unavailable.
Manish Goel- Poonam Narula
Having played an on-screen husband and wife, the two seem to have taken their character roles seriously. Poonam and Manish met on the sets of Kasauti Zindagi Ki. It is said that it was Manish Goel's mom who proposed to Poonam for Manish. The lady took her own sweet time to say a yes to Manish Goel . The couple is married for over 14 years now and has two kids. We tried getting in touch, but the two remained unavailable for comment.
Marriages are made in heaven, it just takes the right time and right place to bump into him or her! And for these beautiful couples, it seems 'Ekta Kapoor serials' were 'The' place.
Happy Valentine's Day!
